CHAMPIONSHIP: FINAL KWC BRAZIL – KARAOKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

For 15 years the Karaoke World Championships has gathered an average of 30 countries do compete for the world champion title. In Brazil the championship is in its 3rd edition and selects the best singers to compete for a position in the world final in Helsinki, Finland, will all expenses included. On September 17, the event will gather singers from 5 Brazilian states at Tropical Butantã to choose the champion couple that will represent Brazil and share the stage with people from all over the world.

Vanessa’s maternal grandmother was from the Xavantes tribe and the singer received several musical influences, such as samba, country music, Italian tacky music, carimbó (a musical rhythm from Amazon) and artists like Luiz Gonzaga, Tom Jobim, Milton Nascimento, and Orlando Silva. As a songwriter, she became famous with songs for Chico César, Maria Bethânia and Ana Carolina, in addition to participating in Milton Nascimento’s and Bethânia’s concerts. Owner of a great talent, Vanessa da Mata conquered a great number of fans and admirers of her work across Brazil.

EXHIBITION: METROPOLIS: PAULISTANA EXPERIENCE

The exhibition will gather about 80 works from 33 artists, among facilities, paintings, pictures, videos and works in other media, mostly contemporaneous works. Among the exhibiting artists, we have Sidney Amaral, oDra Longo Bahia, Victor Brecheret, Peter de Brito, Rafael Carneiro, Leda Catunda, Flávio Cerqueira, Lia Chaia, and other artists from São Paulo city, who live or lived in the city and give emphasis to the experience of living in São city Paulo, that is the “paulistana experience”.

EXHIBITION: TOULOUSE-LAUTREC IN RED

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) was one of the most important European artists at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century – a decisive time for the modern art and stage for political, economic and social transformations that mark the life in the cities up to date. The MASP presents the most extensive exhibition dedicated to the artist in Brazil, encompassing all of his artistic production, from the first years, in the 1880’s, to the end of his life, in a collection of 75 works and 50 documents.
